Halloween Dream

The sea is as black as pitch
The sky is owned by the witch
The Earth is seen by the demons vulture eye
Hearing the screams of those to die

Angels are nowhere to be found
It is the monsters playing field
Their marching makes a low, dull, quick sound
The pathway from hell can not be sealed

It is everyones worst dreams
Because no one can hear their screams
It is not a beautiful sight
The plants are cursed with blight

There is no one you can believe
Because anyone can deceive
Everyone's blood ran cold
From fears of new and old

Just when everyone thought death approached
The sun rose faster than a jet stream
Suddenly all the monsters disappeared
It turns out it was nothing but a Halloween Dream

Langston Hughes:A Dream Deferred-The Remake

And now you got me not wanting anything but a break from it all.
To wake up one day and not have to worry about if you love me or if you're gonna come back or not.
I'm trying to find the inner me that's full of pride and optimism, but it seems like it's too dark in here,
And my flashlight keeps dimming OUT.
I tried to paint a picture today of what I loved the most,
But it wasn't a surprise when all I painted was your name and a heart surrounding it.
I loved you the most, and for me, that was something I thought I was incapable of doing.
Isn't that funny? LOVE
The one thing you thought I didn't have, but yet it's you I cry for
And you who I pray to God comes back.
I wanted that fairy tale ending so I could close the chapter of my love life,
But for some reason or another, I ran out of ink.
And thus the story of my life.
